The 2018 Parish Guide Book has been mailed out (not to be confused with the Pictorial Directory, which will be available in October), and we realized that many people have not been included. We're working to fix the problem and are sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you!

Changes in Leadership at IC

posted Jul 17, 2018, 8:56 AM by Shelly Hittner

IC warmly welcomes Fr. Geoffrey Brooke and extends our deep thanks & best wishes to Fr. Cesar Anicama

Immaculate Conception Parish has received a new Associate Pastor, Fr. Geoffrey Brooke.  In addition to being Associate here at I.C., he will be the new Hispanic minister for the Jefferson City Hispanic community.   He has returned from studies in Rome and began his assignment here on July 16Welcome, Fr. Geoffrey!  We are glad to have you at I.C.!

Fr. Cesar Anicama, with Bishop McKnight’s permission,  has applied to join the Society of St. James, an order of diocesan priests focused on missionary work. Joining this group as a priest in good standing of the Diocese of Jefferson City will give him the opportunity to minister in his home country of Peru. Fr. Cesar will be only a few hours from his family, where he feels he needs to be at this point. While his application is pending, Fr. Cesar’s new status is priest-in-residence which means, at least for the present, that he will be living and helping out here at I.C. and helping in the diocese as needed

and directed by Bishop McKnight.

Everyone is invited to join us on July 21-22 after Masses for receptions celebrating Fr. Cesar's two years of priestly service here at I.C. and to wish him well in his new calling.

IC is once again hosting the Alpha course, starting Monday, August 27, 2018. Sessions are held weekly from 6-8 p.m. in Pleus Hall and each session starts with a good meal followed by a short video and discussion in a small group.  There is no cost and anyone is welcome.

Alpha is an invitation to explore your questions of life and faith and God. It is an exploration of the Christian faith in a relaxed, fun, non-pressured setting, giving each person a chance to listen, learn, discuss and discover.
